Sofia and Matt's engagement session

My friend Sara referred my photography services to her friend Sofia and Matt, who chose me to capture their engagement and wedding pictures.
What a great funny couple. Hands down, I have to say, that Sofia and Matt are the funniest couple that I ever worked with. Meeting them in person was the highlight of my day!
One of the best things about Sofia and Matt is their quickness to laugh and their light heartedness. It's one of their most endearing qualities... From the moment we've met I was laughing till the end of our photo session.
They've met many years ago and were friends first. Little did they know they were looking at the person with whom they'd share life later on. Their friendship grew over the years and they've fallen in love. I cannot imagine this couple to be ever bored. They make each other laugh and their laughter and fun personalities are super contagious.
Sofia chose Balboa Park for the beginning of the session and after many fun pictures.

After an hour of fun, we went over to Coronado Island to capture some sunset pictures with the skyline of San Diego downtown.

This was a year ago, so their wedding pictures will be next.

Rayna

Photo session with Rayna was put off so many times, due to her being mom of triplets and also being full time working energy healer and acupuncturist at Ananda Wellness.
These pictures were actually exchange for services. Rayna is treating me with her healing skills and acupuncture and I took pictures of her.
She doesn't feel very comfortable to be photographed, but I assure her, that we will just have a good time and capture some nice moments in a meantime. That's my approach to photo sessions anyways. I want people to have a good time, that is the key for beautiful pictures.
You can see few pictures and see for yourself, how beautiful this woman is. In and out. I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to get to know her more every time we meet.

And this is her comment on few sneak peek pictures I've sent her few hours after our photoshoot:
"Aah! I love them!! Thank you, miracle worker. :-) xoxo"

I love my job and I love sharing those special moments and pictures with my clients.

Caroline & Chad's wedding in Feburary

Caroline and Chad found my services through an agency #The Pros (which is part of American Wedding Group - that I work for sometimes). And because of the contract, I couldn't post these pictures for some time.

From the very beginning I've met Caroline and listen to her talking to her Hairstylist, open adoption that she mentioned caught my attention. I've never heard of it and didn't even know, what it means. Basically, what she shared with us.. It means, that you can give your child for an open adoption, which means, that you are still in touch with the adoptive parents and your biological child after the adoption.
The parents would inform her and share whats up with the child.
She told us, that with one child already, when she found out, that she was pregnant with an irresponsible person that wasn't supportive or involved at all, she's decided to give her child for adoption and she feels that she made the best decision for her baby girl and herself.
The little girl's parents are amazing and she is happy little kid, who came to the wedding as well. It was very emotional and touching.

That's another part of my job that I love. I always meet new people, listen to new and interesting stories and learn something new.
Caroline and Chad met at work - working for the Air Force. He immediately charmed her with his calm and stable personality with a very unique sense of humor. She told me, that he is her soulmate and I can tell, that they are very comfortable with each other, and share very funny sense of humor. As it shows in the pictures.

The wedding ceremony took place +Old Poway Park in the gazebo.

Caroline's son Joshua is also very funny and up for anything fun for pictures.. But this one was actually Caroline's request.

Caroline wanted to feel like a princes - Cinderella and her prince is trying her shoe on...

First dance #Templars Hall, Old Poway Park.                                                               Are they gonna fight?.. That's exactly their humor...

It was fun to be in the Porter House Rose Room for preparation, ceremony outside followed by fun reception inside #the Templars Hall, Old Poway Park, where you can fit up to 100 guests.
Lastly, we couldn't miss the pictures with the Old Poway Park train staition.
What a fun day to be part of. Thank you Caroline and Chad and be happy together!!

Wossene & Daniel's engagement photo session...

I've met Wossene and Daniel few months ago for our wedding consultation. We've met @Lestats coffee shop on Park Av., San Diego. I felt at ease with them from the first minute and I was very happy to hear, that they chose me as their wedding photographer. Along the planning for the wedding, we also decided to take some fun engagement pictures, which took place last evening @Harbor Island, San Diego. I haven't seen many engagement session there, but since I had enough time to explore the place, I've found so many cool spots. And I was excited, waiting for the couple to come and join me on a big tree.
They were super excited, brought bunch of props (last minute decision). And I was trying to create some story with it.

Especially the very nice and warm blanket from Ethiopia (that's where Wossene and her family came from), which totally came handy, since the sun disappeared behind the marine layer and we were left out on windy and overcast Harbor Island.

What a fun background of the Downtown San Diego for the engagement pictures.

The bride to be had two different outfits as well as the groom to be. Their outfits were matching so well together... and with the sing Live, Laugh, Love too.
Having fun running around...

And bring in the props from the bride's bridal shower...
After the sunset, it was time for the lights from buildings, lamps and sparkles to play with.
I love, how creative this couple is. Wossene said that she had never been comfortable to have her pictures taken, but she was such a pro!!
Happy 4th of July everyone and I look forward to capture their love on their wedding day this coming August 2015.

Alma's firt photoshoot with props..

I can't believe how fast the time flies. It seems like few days ago since the birth of Alma and it's been already few weeks from the birth.
Time for "real photoshooot" for the beautiful baby Alma, before she'll be too big and won't fit in some small baskets and suitcases that I have for the baby photo session.
Well.. too late for the suitcase.. She is already too big to fit in there completely. I know that babies grow fast.. but this one is growing super fast..

It was so much fun to come to that loving home and take some nice pictures of this beautiful little angel. She is so calm, patient and sweet. I'm super excited to be her auntie (not by blood, but it doesn't matter). At the beginning, she didn't want to sleep. Maybe she wasn't comfortable in my little suitcase. But she didn't want to sleep in the basket either. To put something on her head would make her pretty uncomfortable and she would grab that and try to take it away from her head. It was amazing, that such a little baby is already showing you, what she doesn't want.

Her mom breastfed her and after a little while and she finally fall asleep. So for a little time, we had some fun with the sleeping beauty.. I mean baby.

She actually took a nice long nap in the basket eventually. And we stopped taking pictures after probably an hour, so we could continue later in the night that day, so there could be mom and dad in the pictures as well.
It's really beautiful to take pictures of babies, you just have to be very patient, don't force them into some position that they don't want and go with the flow.
